This past Labor Day weekend we stayed at our camper for almost a week and I needed something to keep the little ones busy.  I always have a lot of non-toxic tempera paint; I mean who doesn’t…amiright?  I put a few tubes of paint to some messy use.

After putting the kids in some play clothes (even though tempera paint usually washes out) I had them sit in a plastic pool lined with paper, and I threw one of those color yourself tee-shirts in there as well to make the 5-year-old a new painting smock.
My daughter wasted no time making a mess…she loves to mix and smear colors together.  It was also a terrific opportunity to paint Baby Danger.  He was covered head to toe in paint.

The kids were completely covered in paint, and I’m sure Baby Danger had a taste or two…thank goodness it’s non-toxic.  They even managed to get some paint on paper.

At the surface this was a really messy activity, but, it kept the kids totally engaged for over an hour, and it was nice having my husband there to see the kids painting and getting messy.  He works such long hours, that we all needed this trip to enjoy some good ol’ messy quality time together!
